The main challenge in fractured basement reservoirs is to determine whether the fractures are primary contributors to store and flow hydrocarbons from the reservoirs. In a fractured basement reservoir, permeability is closely related to fracture connectivity. The conventional method uses both acoustic and resistivity imaging techniques which generally looks at the fractures intersecting the borehole wall. Cross- dipole measurement techniques in advanced acoustic logging have enhanced the ability to image the far situated features around the borehole. A study has been carried out to understand the fracture network in basement reservoir with advanced acoustic measurements and carried out deep shear wave imaging to perceive presence far features and events. To understand the fracture network in the borehole, advanced acoustic logging techniques such as stoneley fracture analysis, shear wave anisotropy studies carried along with deep shear wave imaging in basement by using shear wave reflection imaging analysis.Deep shear wave imaging analysis shown presence of some far reflectors which are not cutting the borehole and in turn causing anisotropy in shear acoustics. Anisotropy analysis from Sonic Scanner data in studied well revealed formation anisotropy. Anisotropy analysis from Cross Dipole data in this well shown formation anisotropy whereas stoneley fracture analysis shown no fracture reflectivity around the borehole. To address this anisotropy,deep shear wave imaging analysis attempted to see fractures presence away from borehole which are not intersecting the borehole
