The increasing complexity and sophistication of cyber threats have made cybersecurity a collaborative effort between human expertise and Artificial Intelligence (AI). While AI technologies have significantly enhanced threat detection, malware analysis, vulnerability assessment, incident response, and security automation, human analysts remain indispensable for strategic decision-making, contextual reasoning, ethical judgment, and handling complex cyber incidents. Effective collaboration between humans and AI enables Security Operations Centers (SOCs) to improve threat awareness, reduce response times, minimize analyst fatigue, and enhance the overall resilience of cybersecurity operations. Achieving this synergy requires the development of transparent, trustworthy, explainable, and human-centric AI systems that complement rather than replace human expertise.
Advances in machine learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), generative AI, explainable AI (XAI), reinforcement learning, and intelligent decision support systems are transforming the way security analysts interact with AI-powered tools. However, challenges such as AI transparency, trust calibration, cognitive workload, adversarial manipulation, bias, privacy, accountability, and regulatory compliance remain critical barriers to effective human-AI collaboration. Addressing these challenges is essential for building secure, reliable, and responsible AI-assisted cybersecurity systems capable of defending against evolving cyber threats.
The International Conference on Cyber Security in Artificial Intelligence (ICCSAI 2027) invites original research contributions on Human-AI Collaboration in Cybersecurity. This track provides an interdisciplinary forum for researchers, cybersecurity professionals, AI scientists, human-computer interaction (HCI) experts, cognitive scientists, industry practitioners, and policymakers to present innovative research on collaborative intelligence for cyber defense.
